Current Opportunity – Bargara / Bundaberg, QLD 4670
We are currently seeking a compassionate, creative and proactive Disability Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a participant in the Bargara/Bundaberg area.
The participant has a strong interest in painting and creative arts, so we would particularly like to hear from support workers who have an artistic or creative background, enjoy painting, arts and crafts, or are enthusiastic about supporting creative activities.
A nursing, healthcare or clinical care background would also be highly regarded.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can combine safe and reliable disability support with community participation, recreation and meaningful creative activities.
The Role:
Depending on the participant's individual needs, preferences and goals, you may provide support with:
- Community access and social participation.
- Transport to shops, appointments and recreational activities.
- Shopping and everyday errands.
- Painting and creative art activities.
- Arts and crafts projects.
- Visiting galleries, art stores, markets or community activities.
- Recreational and leisure activities.
- Exploring new hobbies and interests.
- Supporting the participant to remain socially connected.
- Encouraging independence, choice and confidence.
- Assistance with daily living where required.
- Monitoring general wellbeing and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Following the participant's individual support and care plans.
- Maintaining accurate support documentation and progress notes.
Creative Arts & Recreation:
Creativity is an important part of this role.
The participant loves to paint, and we are looking for someone who can genuinely engage with this interest rather than simply supervise activities.
You may have experience or a personal interest in:
- Painting.
- Drawing.
- Arts and crafts.
- Creative projects.
- Photography or other visual arts.
- Galleries and exhibitions.
- Recreational and community activities.
You do not need to be a professional artist. A genuine enthusiasm for creativity and the ability to encourage and participate in artistic activities is what matters.
About You
The ideal support worker will be:

- Able to work independently and use appropriate initiative.
- Encouraging of independence, choice and participation.
A nursing, healthcare, aged care or clinical support background would be highly regarded.
What You'll Need:
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain where applicable:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or an equivalent/relevant qualification.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current CPR certification.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You.
- Australian working rights.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance suitable for transporting the participant.
- Australian Business Number (ABN) or willingness to obtain one.
- A professional, reliable and participant-focused approach.
